The summer was perfect
Sprays floating on the breeze
coins of light on the sidewalk.
Luck, a two toed creature
knocked twice and twice again.
Skulls peered through plants
& nursed fears of abandonment.
We made love and slept in the car.
Cracks and buckles of sand fussed
lush with head high grasses
luminescent against the sun.
There was a rich picture
on the wind.
I want it more than anything.
